JEE Advanced 2026

JEE Advanced is India’s well-known engineering entrance exam, conducted every year for admission to 23 IITs. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main qualify for JEE Advanced. The exam assesses deep conceptual understanding and multi-concept problem solving abilities in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

JEE Advanced Exam is administered by one of the IITs on a rotating basis under the supervision of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The exam is the last step to get admission into BTech, BS, BArch, Dual Degrees, and Integrated MSc programs at IITs. The JEE Advanced is significantly more difficult than JEE Main and is one of the most difficult undergraduate examinations in the world.

JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the JEE advance exam 2026, candidates are required to fill out the criteria set by the conducting body. Check the below table for detailed information about JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility criteria:

Eligibility CriteriaDescription
Number of AttemptsCandidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. Example: If your first attempt was in 2025, you may appear again in 2026. If 2026 is your first attempt, your next eligible attempt will be in 2027. However, if you attempted in 2024 and skipped 2025, you cannot appear in 2026, as only consecutive attempts are permitted.
Performance in JEE Main 2026Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories) in the BE/BTech Paper of JEE Main 2026.
Age LimitCandidates must be born on or after October 1, 2001. Age relaxation: SC, ST, and PwD candidates get 5 years relaxation and must be born on or after October 1, 1996.
Year of Passing Class 12Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2025 or will appear in 2026 are eligible. Not Eligible: Those who appeared for Class 12 for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not eligible, regardless of subject combinations.
Earlier IIT AdmissionsCandidates who have ever been admitted to an IIT are not eligible, whether they continued the program or withdrew. Even those who accepted an IIT seat earlier by reporting online or at a reporting centre are considered admitted and thus not eligible.

JEE Advanced Previous Year Question Papers with Answer Keys

The provisional answer keys for the JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be accessible on the official online portal. Once the provisional answer keys are released, candidates will be able to raise objections/challenges to the provisional answer keys via the candidate login portal. The final answer key would be released after reviewing/assessing all challenges. The final result and marks of JEE Advanced would be based solely on the final answer key.

The mock test follows the same layout as the actual examination, and no login is required to access the mock test. JEE Advanced candidates are free to use these practice tests as often as possible to allow for progress tracking and increased readiness.

JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card

Registered candidates can download the JEE Advanced 2026 admit card from the official website using their login details. A printed copy of the admit card and an original photo ID must be carried to the exam centre; entry will not be allowed without these documents. Where to download the admit card:The admit card is available under the candidate’s JEE Advanced 2026 login at jeeadv.ac.in. To access it, students must log in using their JEE Main 2026 application number and date of birth.

Details mentioned on the admit card:The hall ticket will display the candidate’s name, JEE Advanced roll number, JEE Main application number, photograph, signature, date of birth, correspondence address, category, and the allotted exam centre’s name and address.

Why the admit card is important:The admit card is mandatory for entry into the exam centre and contains essential exam-day instructions that candidates must follow.Documents to carry on exam day:
Candidates must bring:

  • Printed copy of the JEE Advanced 2026 admit card

  • Original photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, School/College ID, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, or a notarised certificate with photo)

Only candidates with a valid admit card and ID are permitted inside. Pens, pencils, a transparent water bottle, the printed admit card, and the original ID are allowed in the exam hall.

In case of any discrepancy:If there is an error or downloading issue, candidates should immediately contact the Zonal Chairperson of JEE Advanced 2026 for correction.

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Centres

The list of exam centres will be announced soon. Candidates can select preferred cities while filling the application form. Centres are grouped into seven zones:
IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Roorkee.

The final exam centre, along with address and reporting time, will be mentioned on the admit card.

JEE Advanced 2026 Result

JEE Advanced 2026 result will be released online at jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates must log in using their credentials to view their scores and download the scorecard. A text message will also be sent to the registered mobile number. Rank cards are not sent individually.

How Scores Are Calculated

  • Marks in each subject = Paper 1 marks (subject-wise) + Paper 2 marks (subject-wise).

  • Aggregate score = Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics total marks.

  • Candidates qualify only if they meet the minimum subject-wise and overall cutoff for their category.

  • Prepared based on aggregate marks in both papers.

  • Only candidates who appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are ranked.

  • No waiting list is released.

JEE Advanced 2026 Cutoff

JEE Advanced cutoff is the minimum score required to pass the exam. It is released with the information brochure and then updated after the result, depending on number of candidates, difficulty level, and available IIT seats.
