The NMAT 2025 overall cut-off for NMIMS Mumbai MBA is expected to be 209+ (scaled score).
This 209 score is expected to be common across most NMIMS campuses (Mumbai, Bangalore, etc.).
NMAT Sectional Cut-offs for NMIMS are expected to be 62+ for all three sections.
NMIMS has reduced the NMAT score weightage to 20% in the composite selection.
The Competency Assessment Test now carries the highest weightage at 50%.
Candidates must clear both the overall and sectional cut-offs to get a call.
NMAT by GMAC is a critical management exam for entry to premier B-schools. The NMAT cut off 2025 is the minimum score needed for shortlisting. Clearing both the overall score (e.g., 209+ for NMIMS) and individual sectional cutoffs is mandatory. The NMAT exam is held in a long testing window (Nov-Dec 2025). The exam can be attempted thrice, taking the best score of the candidate. There are a total of 108 questions in three sections: Language, Quant, Reasoning. The time duration is 120 minutes. No negative marking is applicable. It is advisable that an aspiring candidate concentrates on scoring evenly in all sections to maximize chances of admission.
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) administers the NMAT. The exam window is lengthy, offering multiple attempts. Candidates can take the exam up to three times. This includes one first attempt and two retakes. The best score out of all attempts is considered for admission.
| NMAT Event | Start Date (Expected) | End Date (Expected) |
| NMAT Registration 2025 | August 1, 2025 | October 10, 2025 |
| NMAT Scheduling | August 1, 2025 | October 17, 2025 |
| NMAT Exam Delivery Dates 2025 | November 5, 2025 | December 20, 2025 |
| Retake Registration | November 6, 2025 | December 17, 2025 |
| Scorecard Release | Within 48 hours of exam | Within 48 hours of exam |
The exam duration is 120 minutes. It features three sections with 108 total questions. Crucially, the NMAT follows a no negative marking scheme.
Several factors influence the determination of the final NMAT cut off score. These factors ensure a competitive and fair selection process.
Difficulty level of the exam: A tougher NMAT paper usually gives rise to a lower cutoff score. An easier exam usually has an upward lifting effect on the cut-off requirement.
Total Number of Candidates: More the number of test-takers competing, the higher is the cutoff. Less number of candidates, maybe a little relaxed in cutoff.
Total Number of Seats Available: Limited seats in an extremely popular program automatically increase the cut-off. Higher seat availability can lead to a more relaxed cutoff.
Ranking and Reputation of the Institute: Higher ranked ones always tend to set a higher cutoff-it always happens that way for the best B-schools, especially NMIMS Mumbai.
The NMAT requires that all the individual sectional cut-offs be cleared. This calls for a well-balanced preparation plan divided among all three sections. Not a single section cleared, despite getting a high overall score, results in rejection on this parameter. Clearly, it favors sectional competence.
| NMAT Section | Max Score | Expected Sectional Cutoff 2025 (Range) |
| Language Skills (LS) | 120 | 62-76 |
| Quantitative Skills (QS) | 120 | 62-74 |
| Logical Reasoning (LR) | 120 | 62-72 |
| Overall Score | 360 | 209-235+ |
Candidates should aim for the upper end of these ranges. A target score of 230+ provides a safe margin for the top programs.
NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) is the primary college. It utilizes the NMAT score for admission to its prestigious MBA programs. The NMIMS NMAT cut off 2025 will likely mirror the updated 2024 criteria. This update introduced a uniform, common cutoff.
| NMIMS Program/Campus (NMIMS NMAT Cut Off Score 2025) | Overall NMAT Cutoff 2025 (Expected) | Expected Sectional Cutoff 2025 (LS/QS/LR) |
| NMIMS Mumbai (MBA Core, HR, BA, DT) | 209 | 62 in each section |
| NMIMS Bangalore (MBA) | 209 | 62 in each section |
| NMIMS Navi Mumbai (MBA) | 209 | 62 in each section |
| NMIMS Hyderabad (MBA) | 209 | 62 in each section |
| NMIMS Indore (MBA) | 209 | 62 in each section |
| NMIMS Mumbai (Pharma Management) | 190 | 50 in each section |
A total NMAT score of 209 is the minimum threshold for most NMIMS programs. This single cutoff simplifies the application strategy significantly.
Reviewing historical NMAT cut off trends is very insightful. It shows the rigorous competition faced in previous admission cycles. The cutoff has seen fluctuations based on the exam's difficulty.
NMAT cutoff 2024 for NMIMS was standardized. A common overall score of 209 was applied to almost all major MBA programs. This was a notable change from previous years’ higher scores. The sectional cutoff was set at 62 for each section.
| NMIMS Program (NMAT 2024 Cutoff) | LS Cutoff 2024 | QS Cutoff 2024 | LR Cutoff 2024 | Overall Score 2024 |
| MBA (All Campuses/Major Programs) | 62 | 62 | 62 | 209 |
| MBA Pharmaceutical Management | 50 | 50 | 50 | 190 |
This uniformity underscores the importance of the new Competency Assessment Test (CAT). NMIMS gives 50% weightage to this test in the final selection. The NMAT score only carries a 20% weightage now.
NMAT Cutoff 2023 for the core NMIMS Mumbai program was quite high. It required a very strong performance across all three sections. The overall score was significantly higher than the subsequent 2024 cutoff.
| NMIMS Program (NMAT Cutoff 2023) | LS Cutoff 2023 | QS Cutoff 2023 | LR Cutoff 2023 | Overall Score 2023 |
| NMIMS Mumbai MBA Core | 76 | 71 | 71 | 234 |
| NMIMS Bangalore MBA | 70 | 64 | 65 | 222 |
| NMIMS Hyderabad/Indore MBA | 60 | 60 | 60 | 206 |
The sectional requirements in 2023 were higher, especially for Language Skills.
NMAT Cutoff 2022 remained highly competitive for the top campus. Scores consistently exceeded 220 for the Mumbai program. This shows a historical pattern of high demand for NMIMS Mumbai.
| NMIMS Program (NMAT Cutoff 2022) | LS Cutoff 2022 | QS Cutoff 2022 | LR Cutoff 2022 | Overall Score 2022 |
| NMIMS Mumbai MBA Core | 76 | 71 | 71 | 232 |
| NMIMS Bangalore MBA | 70 | 64 | 65 | 224 |
| NMIMS Hyderabad/Indore MBA | 60 | 60 | 60 | 206 |
The sectional requirements were also stringent, demanding high accuracy.
NMAT cutoffs marks 2021 showed variations across the sections and campuses, with the overall cutoff still being difficult for the core program.
| NMIMS Program (NMAT Cutoff 2021) | LS Cutoff 2021 | QS Cutoff 2021 | LR Cutoff 2021 | Overall Score 2021 |
| NMIMS Mumbai MBA Core | 60-70 | 70-75 | 68-75 | 215-230 |
| NMIMS Bangalore MBA | 68-73 | 65-70 | 73-75 | 200-210 |
A score in the 220+ range significantly increased the call probability.
Many esteemed B-schools accept the NMAT score. They publish their cutoffs as either a score or an equivalent percentile. A high percentile is required for the best institutes.
Top B-schools generally require scores above the 90th percentile. Achieving a score of 220+ is critical for these institutes.
| Institute | Expected Overall Cutoff 2025 (Score) | Approx. Percentile | Expected Sectional Cutoff (All Sections) |
| K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai | 224-230 | 95+ | 75+ in each section |
| Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XIMB/XUB) | 220+ | 90+ | 70+ in each section |
| TAPMI, Manipal | 220+ | 90+ | 68+ in each section |
| SDA Bocconi Asia Center, Mumbai | 200+ | 80+ | 55+ in each section |
| Great Lakes Institute of Management (PGPM) | 200+ | 85+ | 60+ in each section |
These scores only ensure a shortlist call. Final admission depends on the performance in the selection rounds.
Mid-tier colleges provide strong options at more accessible cutoff levels. These institutes generally look for a percentile between 70-85.
| Institute | Expected Overall Cutoff 2025 (Score) | Expected Percentile | Expected Sectional Cutoff (All Sections) |
| ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad | 180-190 | 78-82 | 56-58 in each section |
| Shiv Nadar University (SNU) | 190-200 | 80-84 | 58-60 in each section |
| SOIL Institute of Management, Gurgaon | 165-175 | 70-75 | 50-52 in each section |
| Alliance University, Bangalore | 150-160 | 62-68 | 45-47 in each section |
| VIT Business School, Vellore | 145-155 | 60-65 | 43-45 in each section |
Strategic, section-wise management of time during the NMAT is the key to success. Exam patterns generally expect uniform scoring levels across the three sections.
Language Skills (LS): There are 36 questions, to be done in 28 minutes. It tests reading speed and comprehension capacity, in addition to grammar and vocabulary. A candidate has to get at least 62 in order to clear the minimum line for NMIMS.
Quantitative Skills (QS): There are 36 questions to be solved in 52 minutes. The longest section is focused largely on Data Interpretation and basic mathematics topics. Do maintain accuracy in Arithmetic and Algebra.
Logical Reasoning (LR): 36 Questions in 40 Minutes. This section tests the candidate's critical and analytical ability through puzzles and verbal reasoning.
Scores have to be good across the NMAT sections to allow entry into any desired institution. It is better to aim high in all section.
Clearing the NMAT Cut Off 2025 leads to the second phase of admission. This is the phase when getting the final offer is done.
Institute Specific Application: Separate applications must be submitted by the candidates to their target B-schools. These applications get submitted along with the NMAT score.
Shortlisting: Institutes shortlist candidates based on the minimum NMAT cut-off. The shortlist is the call for the final selection process.
Selection Rounds: Those candidates who get shortlisted undergo an evaluation round. This generally consists of a Group Discussion and Personal Interview, as well as Written Ability Tests in a few institutes.
NMIMS Competency Assessment: NMIMS has a special mode of evaluation that consists of a Competency Assessment test, PI, work experience, and academic consideration for the final merit list. The NMAT score is only a part of the total composite score.
Final Merit List: Admission is finally given on the basis of a composite score formed by combining the NMAT result, academic record, work experience, and PI performance.
Candidates must thoroughly prepare for the selection rounds. A high NMAT score offers a chance; final seats are won by overall performance.
