Candidate’s name
NMAT 2025 registration number
Scaled score for each section
Total scaled score
To help students in preparing for the NMAT exam, GMAC has set the range of possible scores for every section on the exam. Check the table below:
| Sections | Number of Questions | Score Range |
| Language Skills | 36 | 12-120 |
| Quantitative Skills | 36 | 12-120 |
| Logical Reasoning | 36 | 12-120 |
| Total | 108 | 36-360 |
Candidates who take the NMAT often confuse scaled scores with percentiles. While both of these values indicate a candidate's level of achievement on the exam, they do represent different things. The scaled score reflects the adjustment for differences in difficulty among the various NMAT test forms (which vary in difficulty), whereas the percentile indicates how a candidate performed relative to other candidates.
Scaled Scores:
GMAC has adjusted each NMAT form to a single scale, eliminating any variance due to the differing levels of difficulty among the various NMAT test forms so that every candidate can be evaluated fairly, regardless of which test form he/she took.
Final Percentile Scores:
NMAT gives the contestants the final results in percentiles, which are based on the number of contestants and their scaled scores. A 90th percentile score represents that the contestant was better than 90% of the others taking the test.
Note:
In order to determine admission into an NMAT program, NMAT programs rely more heavily on the scaled score than they do on the percentile score, in contrast to other programs such as the CAT or the XAT exam.
