Candidates who have previously taken the MAT or other entrance examinations to a graduate school of business may have a shorter period of time before taking their next test. Candidates will want to develop a plan for studying based upon their strengths, weaknesses, and the amount of time available before the exam. Check below important preparation tips for MAT 2025:
Use recommended MAT study guides that include detailed explanations of key concepts and have plenty of practice problems for you to practice with. Also, use all of the materials that will support your studying.
If you are usingCAT level books for preparation, focus on questions in the format of what will be on the MAT.
Practice on past or current MAT question papers, and take timed mock examinations on a regular basis to improve your speed and accuracy.
As there is no time limit for funds by section, create full-length practice tests with a time limit imposed by yourself.
After taking the timed mock examinations, thoroughly evaluate your performance in order to determine your strengths and weaknesses, and re-evaluate your study strategy based on your performance.
If you have limited time, focus on the high-weightage areas, and study them intensively using questions from previous MAT examination papers.

After taking the MAT exam, candidates may apply to any of the participating institutes based upon their individual ranking and when they submit applications.
To apply to an institute, a candidate may choose up to five preferences, once AIMA receives the results of each candidate’s exam. AIMA then will send the test scores to each of the selected institutions for their next step in the evaluation process.
Final selection is usually based on:
MAT score
Performance in GD/PI or WAT-PI rounds
